Quartz Double Distillation Unit : Vertical Type

Water distillers produce highly treated and disinfected water for laboratory usage. The distillation process removes minerals and microbiological contaminants and can reduce levels of chemical contaminants. Water distillers are neither intended to treat water that is visually contaminated nor intended to convert waste water to safe, microbiologically.

SKSES glass distillation units continue to be the most effective, economic method of producing ultra pure water for laboratory use. By contrast de-ioniser are only effective in removing those substances which are ionized. Further the resins contribute organic impurities to water and an ideal environment for bacterial growth in course of time. These distillation units are designed to produce a distillate of consistent purity. The unit consists of horizontal borosilicate boilers, condensers and quartz heater. The newly developed quartz heater is advantageous than chromium plated heaters used by other manufacturers. Chromium plated heaters react with acids during cleaning process.
Quartz heaters do not react with acids or water during cleaning or at elevated temperature unlike metallic ones. Quartz heaters are easy to assemble and dismantle, unlike metallic ones which are bulky.. The unit comes with an electronic safety controller which switch off the heater when there in no water in the boiler ,simultaneously gives a beep sound which can be heard at a distance thus saving the unit

Working Principle

A water distiller works by boiling water into water vapour, condensing it and then returning it to its liquid state it is Pyrogen free . It is collected in a storage container.

*Municipal or well water is manually or automatically fed into the distiller unit’s boiling chamber.

*A heating element in the boiling chamber heats the water until it boils.

*The steam rises from the boiling chamber. Volatile contaminants (gases) are discharged through a built-in vent. Minerals and salts are retained in the boiling chamber as hard deposits or scale.

*The steam enters a coiled tube (condenser), which is cooled by cool water.

*Water droplets form as condensation occurs.

*he distilled water is collected in a storage tank. If the unit is an automatic model, it is set to operate to fill the storage tank
